SA Fashion Week 2012 [Day 4, Duo 1]: Eskado Bird & Jamila Vera Swai.

Eskado Bird:

A collection of 3 different series, from sweet candy colours to animal print and earthy textured numbers accompanied by plenty of chiffon. This collection would have to be one of our favourites from this label- full of character and very cute ready-to-wear numbers for all those eccentric souls. The first series of garments exhibiting the candy hues was the highlight of this collection. Interesting tailoring and fabric blocking (particularly on the blouses) – which is proving to be a subtle trend developing on the runways. Leopard prints and chiffons soon follow with strong tailoring, reflecting a 1980′s vibe. A little bit humorous but still very stylish, we notice Eskado’s use of ‘bird like’ techniques and fabrics, perhaps a quirky tribute to the label’s name.

Jamila Vera Swai:
It was all about relaxed red in this collection by Jamila Vera Swai, with simple shift dresses followed by tie dye red maxi’s, halters and spaghetti straps. This was an assemblage of predominately ready to wear numbers suitable for rocking those summer days in style (preferably on the Greek Islands)
